tarot thoughts: Magician as endgame
I’m still working through the giant pile of used tarot books I procured at the beginning of the year, and recently finished this slim volume: The Tarot Path to Self Development by Micheline Stuart.
The author presents tarot as a “ladder” which ascends to the peak of human development. Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard that before, right? Except in her view of the major arcana we go backwards from the order we are used to. We still start with the Fool, but instead of ending with the World, we begin with the World. The Magician is endgame in this version of the Fool’s Journey.
This is a bit of synchronicity since I recently shared a piece all about changing the order of the major arcana.
